History
Mary Bussman and a group of 16 dedicated singers founded the choir in August 1997. A Board of Directors comprised of both singing and non-singing members was also formed and the group received 501(c)(3) status recognizing it as a non-profit organization.
Since its inception, the Twin Cities Women’s Choir has welcomed women from all walks of life into its community. Members hail from all over the Twin Cities and Wisconsin and celebrate a diversity of ages, incomes, ethnic origins, sexual orientations, religious backgrounds and ability levels. Today we are 150 women strong and growing.
The Twin Cities Women’s Choir is committed to collaborating with other arts organizations and artists. And in addition to our major concerts, we perform several community concerts each year as a way to build connections with the diverse communities of Minneapolis and St. Paul.
